The IMCA Executive Committee has published an important announcement about the 2012 Class Rule Changes. Make sure You are aware of the situation before You go to Your first 2012 regatta.
The Open Czech Championship 2011 in Melges 24 is successfully over. Team “ALOHA” of Jan Kuchař confirmed its excellent form in this season and won over the second team “RODOP” with the difference of 8 points. The third place went to the crew “Czechin Francek” of Ladislav Smutný. The Olympic medalist Lenka Vydrová-Šmídová further enriched the event and supported the winning team in the role of a tactician. In total, nine boats have been competing over 12 races towards the highest title.
Despite the small number of participants (4 boats), the ALT Melges 24 Cup 2011 could be definitely seen as a very successful event and a good training regatta for the upcoming Czech Championship. Considering the weather forecast predicting a very small wind only, the competitors got lucky and got to compete in 8 sunny and fairly windy rounds in the end. After the first day, the results were pretty close: ICZ: 9 points, Cautor, YC DIM and Bob & Bobci: 7 points.
On this past weekend (18th-19th June) the first leg of the prestigious RODOP Melges Tour series was successfully held at lake
'Lipno' in South Bohemia. Despite the unfavourable weather, all competitors stayed well tempered and fought until the last meters of
